My name is Rick, also known as RickDaTech on the forums. I opened B100 Supply in 2005 to supply equipment and lab supplies to biodiesel homebrewers in 2005. We developed completely new products and as a result developed documentation for those new products. In 2006 our Appleseed assembly instructions began to morph into a full fledged how to make biodiesel homebrew book with nearly 200 pages. We also wrote articles explaining homebrew which were posted on the B100 Supply site. This material came not only from my personal experience making biodiesel, but also was drawn from the forums and boards. My philosophy was to write material that was based in what works for everyone. There are many sites new and old based on what works for the author. Variations in feedstocks and local conditions often meant that the information on those sites did not work for everyone. By drawing information from multiple sources, sticking to mature topics, focusing on the science behind the process, and watching closely for reports of production inconsistencies, I was able to successfully document how to make biodiesel in a way that works for everyone.
In 2008 Make-Biodiesel.org was born from that documentation and web articles. Much of it was posted after reformatting and updating. Since then I've continued to add new material and revise older articles and move material from the B100 Supply site to here. There is still some material left that is either in the process of being revised or needs extensive reformatting that will eventually find a new home here.
I am no longer selling equipment through B100 Supply and have a full time job. This site has become a hobby for me in that I work on it as I find the spare time and work on the topics that interest me the most. As it stands now, this site is the most comprehensive and up to date site on homebrew, even though it only scratches the surface in some areas. It will not go the way of other sites left untouched for years. As long as I'm here, the site will continue to grow and be kept current.
The site is offered free of charge to the user. We do not ask for donations. We do have some advertising that helps to pay for the upkeep and new software.
